In this paper we perform experimental measurements targeting the UWB wireless channel. For this case we utilize Impulse Radio channel sounding techniques in time domain. The aim is to estimate the channel characteristics such as the path loss, the shadowing effect, the mean excess delay spread, the RMS delay spread and the number of dominant paths. In order to obtain the channel’s impulse response we utilize the CLEAN algorithm for the time-domain deconvolution technique. For the purpose of this experiment we generate very short UWB pulses by a proper transmitter and we study the propagation through the wireless channel
